A while back I was asked to come up with an all star cast of Thundercat actors. I allowed myself to use any actor/actress I liked as long as I thought they could support the role. There was no age limit nor time period in my casting. The choices made were based off of personal preference and my opinion on whether the actor/actress could make the character look/sound/feel believable. Some of my choices were at one time split between two actors, and maybe later I’ll post my “runner-ups,” but for now you’ll get a taste of my prefered list. A final casting call will be made after a thorough search for the best possible actors/actress is completed…..and/or suggestions are cast from any loving Thundercats fans!
So without any futher ado, I give you the new Thundercats cast of characters:
Lion-O:
Lion-O from the cartoon
Brad Pitt was my obvious choice for Lion-O. Lead actor, super hot, and of course the voice is the closest to what I would want Lion-O to sound like.
Tygra:
Tygra from the cartoon
Matthew McConaughey was the man I chose for this role. the eyes, facial structure and side kick attitude got him this role in my mind.
Panthro:
Panthro from the Cartoon
Mekhi Phifer was a shoe in. He’s not had a leading role in any film thus far, but his charm and wit will make his role as Panthro completely natural.
Cheetara:
Cheetara from the cartoon
Rebecca Rojmin won this role for her stellar performance in X-men. I had to see her come back and actually speak in a flick…this is her chance!
Wiley-Kat:
Wiley-Kat from the cartoon
Elijah Wood won this roll only because I think he can play a pissed off troubled adult in a kid’s body. That’s basically what happened to Wiley-Kat. Plus Wiley-Kat has a fun loving side, especially when he teams up with Wiley-Kit.
Wiley-Kit:
Wiley-Kit from the cartoon
Ellen Page won the roll for the side kick to Wiley-Kat. Her charming way to steal the show is exactly what Wiley-Kit is all about.
So that’s my casting call folks. Think you can do better? Think you have what it takes to make the ultimate Thundercats cast!? I challange you by the Eye of Thundera to match my cast or better it. Thundercats Hooooooooo!

The only thing I would want is Vin Diesel as Panthro.
What about Mumm-Ra? Who plays that?
I have that video posted on my other Thundercats post….and I wanted to stay away (as much as possible) from their suggestions. Bad guys and other character comparisons to come!

My selections are based off of not wanting to do what they did….with the exception of Brad Pitt. There’s just no other!

Anyway, I hadn’t seen the video when I thought of Vin Diesel…totally looks right for the part to me.
Yes…Vin really does fit the part, but I want to give Mekhi the chance to shine…up and coming, you know! LOL…
